The village is on a regular bus route to nearby Holmfirth (Summer Wine Village) 3 miles away, and Huddersfield (4 miles). There is also a train service from the village to Huddersfield and Sheffield.

Huddersfield has an excellent theatre and 2 concert halls, a high quality art gallery and multi-screen cinema.
